This year, the dog models at the Pet Gala delivered as much glamor as the stars at the Met Gala, if not more!
Every year, dog fashion designer Anthony Rubio hosts a Pet Gala where dogs wear recreated ensembles that celebrities donned at the Fashion’s Biggest Night. On Monday, May 20, pets dressed up in a reimagined version of Jennifer Lopez’s Schiaparelli gown, a replica of Gigi Hadid’s Thom Browne frock and more!
Lala the Pomeranian as Nicki Minaj
Lala looked just as fabulous as Minaj in a yellow minidress featuring floral and sequin embellishments. (Minaj rocked a sparkly Marni dress.)
Livie the Morkie as Gigi Hadid
The maltese/yorkshire terrier donned a black and white gown inspired by Hadid’s Thom Browne ensemble. Livie’s outfit was complete with lots of sequins and yellow petals.
Ted Gram the Poodle as Bad Bunny
Ted proved to be a good boy at the Pet Gala as he rocked shades and a jacket similar to Bad Bunny’s Maison Margiela suit.
Miley-Jo the Chorkie as Cardi B
Miley-Jo posed in a black gown featuring a dramatic train, inspired by Cardi’s billowing Sensen Li gown.
Daffodil the Pomeranian as Jennifer Lopez
Daffodil showed some fur at the Pet Gala in a sheer sparkly dress similar to Lopez’s beaded Schiaparelli gown.
Saya the a Pocket Pitbull as Shakira
Saya, Saya! The dog brought heat to the gala in a red dress finished with a long train, just like Shakira’s Carolina Herrera gown.
Suki the Chinese Crested as Gayle King
Suki stunned on the carpet in a lime green outfit featuring a rose detail on one of her four legs. The dress was inspired by King’s Marchesa design.
Kimba the Chihuahua as Zendaya
Kimba — who was carried by Rubio — wore a reimagined version of Zendaya’s moody Maison Margiela ensemble.
Fritz the Pomeranian as Ed Sheeran
Fritz looked adorable in a baby blue suit inspired by Sheeran’s Stella McCartney getup.
Yoda the Chinese Crested as Colman Domingo
Yoda suited up in a simple white jacket resembling Domingo’s Willy Chavvaria outfit.
Superman the Leonberger as Irina Shayk
Superman sparkled in a silver getup reflecting Shayk’s crystal dress.
The event which was held at the AKC’s Museum of the Dog in New York City went to support the museum.
