In the ever-evolving landscape of fashion, one designer has taken the runway somewhere wonderfully unexpected — into a world where dogs are not accessories but stars in their own right. This month, DOGUE sat down with the visionary behind JUST IN XX, a designer redefining what it means to create couture for both humans and their four-legged companions.
The label founded by Taiwanese designer Justin Chou (周裕穎) is a celebrated creative force in Taiwan’s contemporary fashion scene. Known for bold concepts, theatrical runway presentations, and a distinctive blend of fashion, culture, and craftsmanship, the brand has pushed boundaries for over a decade. In recent years, Justin Chou has become especially recognized for pioneering “human-and-pet couture,” presenting cohesive collections designed for both people and their dogs. From custom runway looks to full pet fashion weeks, their work is not only reshaping the industry — it’s celebrating dogs as living embodiments of joy, chaos, and creativity.

DOGUE: When did you launch your first dog collection?
Justin Chou: Our first official dog collection debuted in March 2025. But the idea actually began much earlier. Since I have two dogs of my own, we started designing custom runway looks for them as early as 2020 and even let them walk in our JUST IN XX fashion shows.
Over the years, we noticed how the audience’s enthusiasm and acceptance toward “human-and-pet fashion” kept growing. That response inspired us to develop the concept into a complete collection—one where pets aren’t just accessories, but true protagonists on the runway.
DOGUE: What inspired this dog collection?
Justin Chou: The dog collection recently presented at VOGUE FASHION NIGHT OUT, the inspiration comes from two main directions. The first source is the many dogs owned by my friends. We constantly hear stories about their pets’ wild daily behavior—tearing up sofas, sprinting around the house, or simply living every day as if they’re at their own private party. That’s why we chose the theme “Party Animals.” To me, dogs live with a kind of freedom and authenticity that feels like a party every day—they’re unfiltered, expressive, and unapologetically themselves. The second inspiration comes from the huge amount of animal content and memes on social media. Those exaggerated, adorable, and chaotic posts made me realize that dogs aren’t just “loyal and obedient.” They have a funnier, wilder, and more distinctive side that deserves to be seen
DOGUE: Do you have a dog yourself? If so, what kind — and could you share a photo with us?
Justin Chou: Yes, we do. We have two Pomeranians — one black and one white. The black Pomeranian is named Bang-D, and the white one is called Cha-cha.

DOGUE: Was this your first collection?
Justin Chou: Before the pandemic, we regularly showcased our work at New York Fashion Week: THE SHOWS, with a total of about six presentations. After the pandemic, I wanted our runways to offer a richer and more immersive experience—incorporating elements like theatrical performance and even inviting pets onto the stage. Because of this, in recent years we’ve mainly presented new collections at Taipei Fashion Week and through VOGUE Taiwan events.
Looking ahead, our goal is to bring the concept of our “human-and-pet couture” runway—developed through our Taipei Pet Fashion Week—back onto the international stage. Cities like New York, Paris, and London, all known for being pet-friendly, are the places we hope to expand into in the future.
DOGUE: What’s next — any future shows featuring pups?
Justin Chou: On December 6 this year, we will be hosting the second edition of Taipei Pet Fashion Week, where we will debut the full SS26 “human-and-pet couture” collection, presented together with our canine models.
The core purpose behind creating Pet Fashion Week is to help make Taipei a more animal-friendly city. It also allows us to realize something we’ve wanted to do from the very beginning — giving adoptable stray dogs a chance to walk the runway and be seen, increasing their chances of finding a new home.
We welcome dogs of all types and breeds to join the show, allowing the entire city to experience the value and beauty of animals through fashion.
DOGUE: Where can our readers find your designs?
Justin Chou: At the moment, our pieces are available through custom orders or rental, and readers can contact us directly via our official social media channels to create a look tailored for their pets. Starting next year, we will also be launching an online “human-and-pet ready-to-wear collection,” making it easier for everyone to browse, try, and purchase our designs.
What JUST IN XX is creating is more than fashion; it is a movement celebrating the soulful presence of dogs in our lives. By giving pets a place on the runway, the designer is giving them a place in culture — visible, valued, and undeniably stylish. In a world that often takes itself too seriously, their work reminds us of the joy in chaos, the beauty in authenticity, and the irresistible charm of our canine companions.
At DOGUE, we call that couture with heart.
