Louie Takes the Crown: Highlights from the 2025 Dogie Awards

The 2025 Dogie Awards were a sparkling celebration of doggy talent, fashion, and personality—all for a great cause. This year, the event raised funds for the Women’s Legal Service. And while the hearts were full of charity, the spotlight shone on our four-legged stars strutting their stuff on the red carpet!

The competition boiled down to personality, fashion sense, tricks, and creativity, and this year, the bar was set incredibly high. There were jaw-dropping outfits and dazzling performances that had the audience cheering every step of the way.

The Stars of the Show

  • Jamie Bond, a dapper pup dressed as James Bond, stole hearts as he rolled down the red carpet on a gold trolley, handing out roses and “mixing martinis” for the judges in true spy style.
  • Chewie the Cavoodle was a vision in a little blue tartan ensemble, exuding classic charm.
  • Reuben the Spoodle impressed with a tuxedo harness from Bark Avenue while performing a flawless series of tricks.
  • Digby the Dachshund rocked the cutest Christmas outfit, perfectly matched with his mum’s festive dress.
  • Maverick arrived Top Gun-style in a leather jacket, riding in a custom mini plane that had everyone swooning.
  • The ladies were equally show-stopping, dazzling in rhinestones, pink feathers, and couture dresses worthy of any fashion runway.

Unlike other competitions, there weren’t strict categories. Instead, winners were chosen based on overall performance on the red carpet—their outfit, personality, tricks, and ability to charm the judges.

Louie’s Show-Stopping Moment

Louie captured the hearts of everyone in the room. Driving confidently down the red carpet in his Range Rover, paws on the wheel, wearing a custom gold tuxedo by Charlie Belle Pupwear, he truly shone. Matching his mum’s gold sequin dress, Louie’s performance included a bow and handshake at the end of the runway before driving back to applause and cheers.

While some pups were overwhelmed by the lights, music, and smells, Louie remained calm, confident, and charming—a fact that clearly set him apart in the judges’ eyes.

Even the most memorable mishaps brought laughter: James the Red Kelpie, full of energy, ended his trick routine with the longest pee on the golden stanchions lining the runway—and the audience cheered him on!

When it came time for the winners, the tension was palpable. Third place went to Puddin’ the Lhasa Apso, Reuben snagged second, and then—Louie was announced as first place! Tears of joy flowed as Louie’s mum celebrated this monumental moment. All the time spent rehearsing tricks, perfecting the drive down the red carpet, and ensuring Louie was comfortable in his tuxedo had paid off. Louie, her soul dog, had shone in every sense. And now, he’ll grace the digital cover of DOGUE!

Meet Louie: The Star Behind the Tuxedo

Louie is a 2-year-old F1 Yorkipoo (Yorkshire Terrier x Toy Poodle) and only 4kg of pure love. He lives with his two “brothers” (not by birth) – Bentley, the playful 1-year-old little brother he tries to keep out of trouble, and Harley, the wise 17-year-old senior of the house.

Louie loves attending dog markets and events—as long as all the attention is on him. He genuinely enjoys dressing up, knowing it brings extra admiration, and never wears anything that makes him uncomfortable. His gold tuxedo at the Dogie Awards was custom made to match his mum’s sequin gown—a signature matching outfit moment they love.

But Louie isn’t just a model; he’s also a clever little performer. He knows sit, down, paw/handshake, paws up, bow, weave, jump hurdles, jump through hoops, sit on markers, and even drive his little Range Rover.

At home, Louie enjoys the dog park—not necessarily to play with other dogs, but to soak in adoration from his fans. He’s also picky about food, only accepting the finest hand-fed, organic grass-fed scotch fillet steak, medium-rare, of course!

Louie’s Instagram fame began as a practical decision when everyone asked if he had an account—he didn’t, so his mum created one. Now, he has a home photoshoot studio with over 300 backdrops, crates of props, and a wardrobe fit for a doggy diva. It’s safe to say he’s living his best life, and the love and trust he shares with his mum makes him truly irresistible.

A Truly Magical Event

The 2025 Dogie Awards weren’t just about competition—they were about community. Unlike other pet events filled with tension, this one radiated love, support, and joy. All the pups and their owners had an unforgettable experience, and the fundraising was a tremendous success.

We can’t wait to see our furry friends return for the 2026 Dogie Awards, ready to wow us once again with style, personality, and charm.
