Love between humans and dogs is often described as unconditional, but for those who have experienced it deeply, it can feel even more profound. Dogs enter our lives quietly, becoming companions, confidants, and family. Even when their time with us is far too short, the love they leave behind continues to live on. For Jenny, that love came in the form of Eddy Tran, her Bichon Frise, whose presence transformed her life in ways both tender and profound.
In this Valentine’s issue, we spoke to Jenny about her endless love for Eddy, and how he became her soulmate, her muse, and a lasting source of joy, even after crossing the rainbow bridge last year.
“Eddy Tran entered the world on June 2, 2016, and although his earthly presence felt fleeting, the imprint he left upon my heart remains immeasurable. Eddy was originally meant to be a gift for my daughter after she finished middle school. I had promised her that one day she would have a puppy of her own,” Jenny recalls.
“From the moment we brought him home, he stretched across the wooden floor and fell asleep almost immediately, as if he had already found his sanctuary. In that quiet moment, I felt a certainty that this tiny life had arrived not by chance, but as a tender blessing entrusted to our care.”
Eddy quickly grew into a handsome Bichon with a soft white coat and an even softer personality. Sweet, well-mannered, and deeply intuitive, he seemed to understand emotions without words.
“After long, exhausting days of teaching, when my energy felt depleted, Eddy was always there, offering a quiet presence that restored my heart,” Jenny shares.
Eddy inspired creativity as well. Jenny began designing bandanas and capes for pets, using Eddy as the perfect model.
“With his expressive eyes, natural elegance, and quiet confidence, Eddy was the perfect model, transforming every creation into something heartfelt and alive.”
Eddy loved the camera. A simple call of his name was enough — he would appear poised, ready, and radiant, turning everyday moments into something magical.
Today, Jenny’s passion for dog fashion has blossomed into her own brand, Maison de Pawshion, where she crafts custom outfits for her two other dogs, Lola and Ben.
“People often believe soulmates arrive only in human form. But when you have loved a soul like Eddy’s, you understand that love transcends those boundaries. Eddy changed my life not through grand gestures, but through quiet devotion, through ordinary days filled with companionship, and through a love that transformed the way I see the world.”
Love isn’t always loud. Sometimes, it arrives quietly, tugs at your heart, and never truly leaves. Eddy’s story reminds us that love is not measured by time, but by depth. It is steadfast, enduring, and transformative — a love that leaves an indelible mark. For Jenny, Eddy will always remain part of her soul, a gentle presence whose memory continues to shine.
“His departure softened me, humbled me, and left a tenderness that will never fully fade.”
